Taking Center Stage

March 1st marked the start of Women’s History Month, a salient time to honor the achievements and progress of women throughout history. While it’s important to celebrate business owners during this time – and throughout the entire year – Women’s History Month also presents us with a significant opportunity to reflect on the inequities faced by professional women, especially female entrepreneurs, in today’s workplace.

Lisa is no stranger to unjust treatment in a work environment. Starting her career in tech, Lisa (now known as the ‘Sock Queen’) transitioned to being a stay-at-home mom after she was treated differently at work upon having kids. Spirit Sox USA was born years later, after her two children entered middle school.

As an entrepreneur, she’s found that one of the biggest hurdles for women looking to own their own business was a big one: funding. A shocking 98% of funding in the U.S. goes toward male-owned businesses, making it much more difficult for women business owners to stay afloat.

Fortunately, Lisa has been asked to reflect on this and share her experience as a keynote speaker at three different events this month. She will be the keynote speaker for a Professional Women Returning to Work Event with Phase2Careers; a speaker on International Women’s Day for Technologent, an information technology solutions company that ordered Spirit Sox for their women employees; and a keynote speaker at Cornell University for The Women’s Network, a collegiate networking organization with over 50,000 members worldwide.

Through sharing her story, Lisa hopes to inspire and empower other women who may be facing similar challenges in their professional journeys, and to spark meaningful conversations about what it’s like to be a woman in the workplace. As always and especially this month, Spirit Sox USA is proud to be a certified

Sock-Sess Story: Women Work F#cking Hard

As a company spearheaded by women, Spirit Sox USA shares a similar passion to Women Work F#cking Hard (WWFH): amplify and celebrate female voices. That’s why it was such a privilege to make custom socks for WWFH this Women’s History Month.

Our socks were recently worn by members of WWFH when they attended a conference. They’re bright, powerful, and demand to be seen – just like the Women Work F#cking Hard community.

In honor of WWFH, here’s to continuing to make a bold statement, wherever you go.

Psst…you’re cordially invited to celebrate Women’s History Month with Spirit Sox USA! Our Sock Shop features an International Women’s Day-inspired pair of socks that are designed to commemorate and empower.

Whether you’re attending a Women’s History Month event, showing your appreciation for the women in your life, or wanting to treat yourself, these socks will certainly to add a pep in your step!
